Evening Lecture - Private Equity and Venture Capital

In economically turbulent times the banks play important roles. In order to know the commitment of the bank to the technology and innovation management an evening lecture at Capital Bank-Grawe Gruppe AG in a historic building "Palais Esterhazy" in Vienna took place on July 5, 2010

Capital Bank-Grawe Gruppe AG provides private investment banking products and services to medium-sized enterprises and institutional investors in Austria. It offers corporate investment, leverage finance, and corporate finance services. Capital Bank-Grawe Gruppe AG was formerly known as RBB Bank AG and changed its name to Capital Bank-Grawe Gruppe AG in 2001. The company was founded in 1922 and is based in Graz, Austria. It has branches in Salzburg and Vienna. Capital Bank-Grawe Gruppe AG operates as a subsidiary of Grazer Wechselseitige Versicherung Aktiengesellschaft.

Backed by a long history of success-driven shareholders, Capital Bank has been offering competitive services to its customers. Mrs. Sybille Dolecek-Anselment gave an in-depth view on the different forms that private equity and capital venture models encompass. Forms of buy outs which are the most popular investment tool in Europe and exit channels for venture capital and private equity investors were presented in more detail. She explained the funding cycles of venture capital and private equity with practical examples and analysed the development of venture capital in different sectors. The venture capitals in telecommunication and industrial/energy were increased in 2010. But in software and biotechnology it was decreased. Anyhow the major investments in technology are done in biotechnology, software, electrical engineering/electronics, and telecommunication. The topics discussed in the lecture were also clarified and elaborated on using practical examples of capital venture and private equity deals made by capital bank.

Many thanks to DI. Sybille Dolecek-Anselment and the Capital Bank  for the lecture and guided tour through the historic Palais Esterhazy.
